The boat
A USCG-licensed captain is required for every charter — no exceptions. We offer both "Captained" and "No Captain" listings, but please note that a captain is required either way.
The captain's fee is not included in your booking price and is not charged when you reserve the boat. It's paid separately and directly to your captain. If you book a "Captained" charter, the price shown is simply an estimate of what you can expect to pay the captain.
Per USCG regulations, we're not able to provide a captain ourselves. Instead, we'll give you a vetted list of experienced captains who know our vessel well. You're welcome to choose the captain that works best for you and coordinate scheduling directly with them.
Captain's rate: $100–$125 per hour, paid directly to the captain.

Cast off from the harbor and you're minutes from the best views in the city: the downtown skyline, Navy Pier, the Museum Campus, North Avenue Beach, and the open water beyond. Drop anchor in the "Playpen" (Chicago's famous sandbar party spot) to swim and raft up, cruise past the skyline at sunset, or watch the Wednesday and Saturday night fireworks from the water — there's no better seat in Chicago.

- Free cancellations until 30 days before the booking start time.
- 50% refund for cancellations between 15-30 days before the booking start time.
- Cancellations within 14 days of the booking start time are non-refundable.

This boat belongs to a Commercial Owner, an independent boat rental company. A Commercial Owner is an independent, Boatsetter-approved boat rental company who provides their own insurance to their guests.
Security deposit
A security deposit hold (not a charge) will be placed on your credit card 48 hours before your booking starts to cover any incidental damage that may occur during your rental. This hold is released 48 hours after the booking is complete, if no claims are made. The security deposit amount for the boat you are booking will be outlined during the check-out process.
