Endless turtle grass flats, white sandy edges, mangrove islands, tidal creeks, coral heads, and sponges set the stage for exciting sight fishing opportunities, where you can watch fish inhale your fly or bait.

Flats fishing is a combination of hunting and fishing that challenges anglers of every age and experience level. From placing a long fly cast into a permit’s feeding zone, spotting the shadow of a bonefish as it moves across the flat, or bowing to a tarpon as it shows its power and aerial displays, the flats of the Florida Keys offer an experience that is hard to compare to any other style of fishing.

Fishing the flats can be challenging and requires patience and focus to locate fish, position correctly, and make a quality cast. However, once the proper presentation is made, the reward is well worth the effort.

In addition to target species, it’s common to see sea turtles, sting rays, crabs, sharks, snapper, baitfish, dolphins, and birds feeding on the flats. For guests who may not be as focused on fishing, the trip can still be relaxing—providing time to enjoy the scenery, soak up the sun, and take in the natural beauty of the Florida Keys.

A security deposit hold (not a charge) will be placed on your credit card 48 hours before your booking starts to cover any incidental damage that may occur during your rental. This hold is released 48 hours after the booking is complete, if no claims are made. The security deposit amount for the boat you are booking will be outlined during the check-out process.
