BOATSETTER is our affiliate. After booking, you'll receive a separate email from Off the Hook Boating with the subject line "Off the Hook Boating | Complete your Registration" to complete our rental forms.
Here's what to do:
1.) Click the "Register Now" and complete all forms:
- Boat Rental Agreement
- Release of Liability Waiver: ALL PASSENGERS must sign this electronically BEFORE arriving. Don't worry - sharing the link to friends is easy!
- Renters Insurance Selection: Choose to purchase or decline renters insurance as required by Florida law.
2.) Reply to the Off the Hook Boating email with a clear photo of your valid, government-issued drivers license (and NASBLA boaters license or safety course completion if required)
DAY OF RESERVATION INSTRUCTIONS:
ARRIVAL TIME: Please plan to arrive 15 - 20 minutes prior to your reservation start time and head to the launch area where your boat will be waiting in the water. Please wait until myself (Klaus) or another member of my team greets you before entering the boat. Once the entire party arrives, I will orient you with the boat, go over important safety information, and have you complete a pre-ride safety inspection checklist. No one is allowed on the boat without first completing the liability waiver.
LAUNCH POINT: Centennial Boat Launch located in Downtown Sarasota. Minutes north of the Ritz Carlton, across the street from Publix and Van Wezel.
PARKING: There is limited, paid parking at Centennial park. Do not park in trailer-designated spaces.
***ADDITIONAL INFO:***
- The boat will be given to you with a full tank of gas. Fuel cost is not included in the rental price and is charged @ $5.50/gallon used upon return of the vessel.
- We love furry friends but our upholstery does not so unfortunately, we do not allow them on the boats.
- Have a private dock? Ask us about our long-term rental options!
- Looking for a captain? We do not offer captain services ourselves but we do have a great network of licensed captains and would be happy to give you their contact info for availability and pricing.
BOAT RENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be 21+ Years old to rent, Must have 2+ years recent boating experience, Born before 1/1/1988? You'll need a valid government issued drivers license and a matching credit card (be sure to bring with you on the boat), Born after 1/1/1988? You'll need a valid government issued drivers license, matching credit card, AND a valid Florida boaters safety course certificate. Not sure where to get this? Just ask and we'll be happy to help! Be sure to bring with you on the boat.
Completing these steps in advance will significantly streamline your check-in, allowing you to skip paperwork at the dock and get on the water faster!

This boat belongs to a Commercial Owner, an independent boat rental company. A Commercial Owner is an independent, Boatsetter-approved boat rental company who provides their own insurance to their guests.
Security deposit
A security deposit hold (not a charge) will be placed on your credit card 48 hours before your booking starts to cover any incidental damage that may occur during your rental. This hold is released 48 hours after the booking is complete, if no claims are made. The security deposit amount for the boat you are booking will be outlined during the check-out process.
