Come sailing aboard Vesper, a classic 36-foot sailing yacht based in Marina del Rey.
This is a true sailing experience on the Pacific -- once we leave the dock, we’ll raise the sails and let the wind determine the pace of the day. Depending on conditions, the trip might be relaxed and easygoing or involve some faster, more energetic sailing along the Southern California coast.
Vesper offers plenty of character and a large cockpit that makes it easy to relax, enjoy the ocean, and spend time with your group. She is a real sailing boat, and that is a big part of the experience.
I’m a U.S. Coast Guard-licensed captain and longtime sailor, and I’ll handle the sailing while making sure everyone aboard feels safe and comfortable. Guests are welcome to simply relax and enjoy the ride, but if you want to get involved, I’m also happy to let you take the helm, help trim the sails, and learn a little about sailing along the way.
Trips depart from Marina del Rey and can include sailing along the coast, taking in views of Santa Monica Bay, watching the sunset over the Pacific, or simply spending a few hours away from the city surrounded by open water.

I’m a U.S. Coast Guard-licensed captain and longtime sailor based in Marina del Rey. I spend a lot of time on the water and genuinely enjoy sharing sailing with people, whether they’re experienced sailors or stepping aboard a sailboat for the first time.
My goal is to make every trip feel safe, relaxed, and memorable. I take safety and seamanship seriously, but once we’re underway, the atmosphere is easygoing. Guests are welcome to simply sit back and enjoy the sail, or get more involved by taking the helm and helping with the lines.
Vesper is a classic 36-foot sailing yacht with plenty of character, and sailing her is much more about having a real experience on the water than taking a polished sightseeing cruise. Depending on the day, we might enjoy a relaxed coastal sail, some faster sailing in a good afternoon breeze, a sunset over the Pacific, or simply a few hours away from the city.

This boat belongs to a Commercial Owner, an independent boat rental company. A Commercial Owner is an independent, Boatsetter-approved boat rental company who provides their own insurance to their guests.
Security deposit
A security deposit hold (not a charge) will be placed on your credit card 48 hours before your booking starts to cover any incidental damage that may occur during your rental. This hold is released 48 hours after the booking is complete, if no claims are made. The security deposit amount for the boat you are booking will be outlined during the check-out process.

If requested, the owner can provide a list of available captains for bareboat charter or the renter can use their own qualified captain. If the boat is being time chartered, the owner will provide the Captain.
