Trip Assurance

For an additional fee, a Renter may purchase Trip Assurance at the time of booking to ensure the Renter’s ability to receive a refund in the event of cancellation within the applicable cancellation time frames. The Trip Assurance fee will be determined at the time of booking.

Benefits. A Renter that purchases Trip Assurance may cancel a trip for any reason prior to the trip’s start time and receive a full refund on their booking, minus the Renter’s Trip Assurance fee. If a Renter purchases Trip Assurance and cancels a booking outside of the applicable cancellation time frame, the Renter will receive a full refund on their Trip Assurance fee.

Requesting a Refund. To receive a full refund, a Renter must cancel a booking through the Boatsetter platform. Cancelling a booking directly with the Boat Owner without cancelling through the Boatsetter platform will not entitle the Renter to a full refund on their booking. Once a reservation begins, the booking will no longer be eligible for a refund.

Restrictions. Trip Assurance only applies to trip cancellations and does not apply to changes made to the Renter’s booking (either by the Renter or the applicable Boat Owner), including, without limitation, changes to trip dates or rental equipment. Trip Assurance is only valid for the rental and equipment for which it was purchased and cannot be transferred or assigned to another booking. If a Renter exercises their Trip Assurance, the entire rental will be canceled for all rental equipment in the booking. Cancellation is non-reversible. In no event will any amount greater than the original rental fee be refunded to the Renter under the Trip Assurance program. A trip that a Renter books within a time frame that would render such booking non-refundable under the applicable cancellation policy is ineligible for Trip Assurance.
