“Hi, I’m Captain Robert “Ret” Tilley, a U.S. Coast Guard Licensed Master Captain with a lifelong passion for being on the water. I grew up sailing the New England coast with my family, spending summers exploring everything from Narragansett Bay to Salem Harbor. Those early experiences built the foundation for a deep love of the ocean that I’m proud to share with others today. Over the years, I’ve captained both power and sail vessels throughout the East Coast and the Caribbean, and for the past 25+ years I’ve been cruising and fishing the waters from Maine to Rhode Island. Safety, comfort, and a relaxed, enjoyable experience are always my top priorities onboard. Before turning my focus more fully to boating, I worked as an engineer for 17 years supporting the U.S. Navy’s nuclear submarine fleet—an experience that shaped my attention to detail, professionalism, and commitment to safety.
