I have worked on boats along the eastern seaboard, Caribbean, Canada, Hawaii, Gulf of Alaska, and Bering Sea with extensive experience in the Great Lakes and Bahamas. I have transited from the Milwaukee to the Florida via the St. Lawrence Seaway and east coast 5 times. I have captained schooners, sailing yachts, steel tour, charter, and fishing vessels, as well as fiber glass yachts. All vessels ranged from 40' to 137' of both single screw and twin-screw propulsion. I have experience in all types of waterways. I have sailed open-ocean passages twice to Bermuda across the Great Antilles to Central America and commercial fishing vessels. I have time on expeditionary and research vessels, fishing vessels and piloting tour and charter boats in urban and extremely busy waterways dealing with a wide variety of vessel traffic, bridge operators while communicating and navigating safely in these hectic environments. I hold a Marine Radio Operators Permit. As well as a BS degree in Biology and a Masters in Freshwater Science and Policy. I enjoy teaching people about boat handling, navigation, seamanship and science and I am good at it. I appreciate curiosity and willingness to learn/can-do attitude.
