The boat is a very cool old boat kept in impeccable condition by its owner! Space on deck is limited and we weren’t told we were allowed to sit on the front area until the end when I asked. I’m a large man and it wasn’t very comfortable until I sat up there. Has a very well kept cabin area with head, sofa, and changing room. Definitely a fun outing!!!!

The boat was super clean and a lot of fun! We went out for my wife’s birthday and it was the perfect experience. We brought our own food and drink and enjoyed the open sea! Would recommend this to anyone 100%!

Captain Philip is great and the sailboat is lovely!

Captain Phil and Captain Katie were wonderful. Their hospitality immediately allowed us (5ladies) to feel at home and comfortable. The group had a fantastic experience, made even more enjoyable by the conversation and camaraderie. All around great day.

What a day! We had a ladies’ sail with captain Phil and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The weather was amazing! The boat, Alcor, was beautiful, clean, and well maintained. She sailed so well!

Captain Phil is a great sailer and tour guide. He had tons of stories and fantastic area knowledge. He is exceedingly kind and even allowed me to refresh my sailing skills on the Alcor as crew.

Awesome captain and guide

Captain Philip is an outstanding person and a very knowledgeable captain. He will gladly conversate with you about the boat, the area, sailing or he will gladly say nothing at all if you want privacy. We enjoyed talking with him for the first 2 hours and stayed up front to ourselves and enjoyed the last 2 hours of our trip alone. He explains everything clearly when you embark. Would recommend this captain to anyone looking for a relaxing day on the water!!!

An absolute gentleman. I can’t imagine him having a bad time with anyone. First and foremost for him safety. Second is that you have a good time. He also lets you participate in sailing the boat as much as you are capable and want. He has a class act. .

Had an excellent time aboard the Alcor with Captain Phil

Philip was fantastic. He is an expert sailer who was able to recommend where to go based on the weather. He's very knowledgeable about the area as well and provided many interesting facts about the various islands and local history.

The boat was comfortable and very lively to sail. It is a great boat for an afternoon sail.

And old school fully keeled Yawl. Beautifully maintained and impeccably run. Philip has the boat dialed in. The sweat equity he has in the boat is evident.

We had a wonderful two-hour sailing cruise departing from Milford Harbor and exploring Long Island Sound. The weather was absolutely perfect, making for a relaxing and enjoyable afternoon on the water.
The boat was comfortable, the scenery was beautiful, and the entire outing exceeded our expectations. If you’re looking for a memorable sailing experience in the Milford area, we highly recommend Captain Phil and this Boatsetter charter. We would definitely do it again.

We had a wonderful afternoon sailing with Captain Phil and Katie. The boat was lovely and we had a beautiful afternoon sailing. We especially appreciated how kind and enthusiastic Phil and Katie were with our children. Our kids learned lots about sailing and were welcomed to join in sailing the Alcor. We loved the experience!

Captain Phil prioritized our safety and comfort. He allowed us to participate with sailing as much as we wanted but always kept a watch to make sure all was well. He had great stories about sailing and the local communities on the Connecticut shore. Hope we sail again.

The ALCOR has a fascinating history. It can out sail some of its larger and dare I say fancier counterparts. Definitely worth some time behind the helm!

My family and I enjoyed a wonderful sunset sail with Captain Phil on the ALCOR. The boat was comfortable for 6 of us, including my 90 year old father! Captain Phil had a wealth of knowledge about the boat itself, sailing in general, and even the history of the islands we passed by. He was very accommodating and even let a few of us help out with the sailing. We were able to bring our own snacks and drinks. Was a ton of fun and would absolutely recommend Captain Phil and the ALCOR!

We booked a time for what was supposed to be a sunset ride. Although it was quite hazy and cloudy and we didn't exactly get a sunset, Captain Philip entertained us with lots of interesting facts and information about the Alcor and the Long Island Sound. He was super nice and friendly and even gave us a bit more time out on the water. It was a great, relaxing and enjoyable evening boat ride. Thank you!
