Tom Hurley was an excellent captain. he gave ken and i a great introduction to Angel and we even got to spend some time sailing in strong winds along the north end of Treasure Island. a lot of fun!

Great boat & excellent crew. Captain Tom took great care of us, we felt safe, and we had a wonderful time on the water.

Mary was awesome. She was a great instructor and got us up to speed since it’s been a while since we sailed. She was nice enough to go pick up some gas for us too to save us time at the fuel dock. Highly recommend her, we may go back for lessons / certification.

Mary was wonderful. Given the rainy weather she offered us a different boat with a full dodger which kept us relatively warm and dry during the day. Anthony was also super helpful and informative during our check out. The boat was in good condition and was perfect for the Alameda NYD circumnavigation. We would definitely charter with Mary again.

Our trip on Anthem was incredible. Granted, the wind and weather conditions were a big part of this, the Ericson 34 handled 15-20+ kn of wind beautifully. We were able to get from Afterguard in the Oakland Estuary, out to the Golden Gate Bridge and back before dark. It was a gorgeous day, and the Ericson sailed marvelously. The interior accommodations are plentiful and clean and comfortable. The exterior and clean and updated. The inboard diesel starts immediately and runs strong and moves the boat very well.

Though this vessel doesn't have a ton of electronic gizmos, the boat is easy to read. Overall, a great sailing experience. As always, Mary is wonderful to work with.

We found the office and the boat without problems. Everybody was friendly and helpful. Checking in and out was painless. Anthem is an old boat, but she is in good condition. All the equipment is on board and working well. The boat was very clean. So overall a good experience.
The weather was great and we had perfect wind, all you need for a great day on the Bay.
It takes about and hour to motor out to the Bay. Take that into account for your plans.

We went out for a birthday on April 7 and had a fantastic day! Mary and her team were very responsive leading up to day-of and Captain Tom ensured we had a great time. We'd definitely set sail with Mary again!

We had an amazing day on Anthem (Mary's Ericson 34-2). Mary communicated all the information we needed before arrival, and Paco was very helpful during check in and check out.

Our group of friends had a great time on the boat cruising around the bay!

The Erickson 32 is a beautiful sailing vessel. I found it to be very well balanced. With the light winds, the inboard diesel was great. Even when fighting a 3kn ebb, we were able to get back to the marina in time.

Mary at Afterguard was wonderful and helped us plan our day on the water. Kevin had the boat ready for us and walked us through the features of the vessel, informing us of certain quirks to be aware of.

All in all a great outing. I'm excited to rent again!

This was my first experience with Boatsetter/Boatbound and was not sure what to expect. Mary asked me to come early to check out the harbor but due to poor information I went to the wrong place and they were closed. So day wasted. As it was, all I had to do was look at a chart with Mary and see where the shallows were and stay clear.
The boat was great. Loads of gear on board. Old but totally functional and sailed well. But as we were deep in the Alameda harbor with speed limits it took ages to get out and sadly we did not manage to sail far. When the wind came up it was time to return. So not sure if I will do this again unless I can spend the night or go back later.

We were a group of 6 who took Mary's Tartan 30 out for a day of sailing in the bay. We went out to watch the Air Show, and Spindrifter was a very solid and affordable option for the group. The Kevlar sails and the high cut jib were fun and well suited to the 15-20k winds in the slot. We felt in full control of the vessel under sail in very tight and congested water. I would certainly rent Spindrifter again.

Mary was wonderful and accommodating. Kevin, who checked us out and prepped the boat could not have been better. Very happy with our experience overall.

My group of 4 rented Mary's Erickson 32 for a nice afternoon on the bay. The day started with fairly light winds. Especially for my sailing-inexperienced in-laws, the light winds and the boats great performance in them allowed for a very leisurely "training session". Off in the distance (around the horn) I spotted the wind off in the distance. The inboard diesel was more than adequate to get us over there in a hurry. Once we found the 15-20kn winds, we were REALLY cruising. The heel was predictable and mild, even in heavier wind conditions. We didn't reef, as the crew were immensely enjoying "SAILING". There was very little weather helm at about 15kn and all members of the group took turns at the helm in the true bay area conditions. It was a fabulous day of sailing in all conditions and I highly recommend this Bay Beauty. Thank you, Mary!
