About Clay
“Clay Groves is a licensed fishing guide and, since 2013, host of the Fish Nerds Podcast, an audio celebration of fish, fishing and eating fish. Clay is indeed obsessed with fish and best known for a quest in 2011 to catch and eat every kind of freshwater fish in New Hampshire. After catching and eating 48 species of fish and completing the epic world-class fishing quest, he could not stop talking about his fishing adventures or the fishy people met along the way. Soon after, to satisfy his need for fishy conversation, the podcast was born. The style has been described as a cross between NPR’s Car Talk and the Tonight Show Night (Fallon, not Leno). With over 250 recorded podcasts, we’ve assembled a loyal fan base of die-hard nerds, fisherfolk, and fisher-nerds that make it all worth doing. Clay looks forward to sharing his knowledge of fish and the local area with you.”

Had a phenomenal day with Captain Clay, he was well experienced in fishing, as well as having a great personality and the crew enjoyed every second of it. We will definitely recommend him to anyone we know and can’t wait to go back for more fun. Thanks brother!

Clay was great! Couldn’t have asked for a better captain for our Bachelorette trip. He was super helpful with the various levels of fishing experience we had in our group. Post fishing, Clay setup the tube for some rides and then fileted and grilled up the fish we caught for lunch! A perfect day on the water!
