Boat we rented was not available, so provided a similar model after waiting about half an hour. After 30 minutes on the water the battery died and we drifted for half an hour until they brought us yet another boat. Also, be aware that you have to give them $250 cash for "cleaning" despite leaving the boat as clean as when we stepped into it. In total cost about $850 for 3 hours. I trust there are better deals out there with no "fine print" hidden excessive fees.

Had a nightmare experience with SMBJrentals. The captain, who was the owner's employee, charged me a $250 cleaning fee upfront. But the worst was yet to come. After just an hour and 20 minutes, the boat ran out of gas, leaving us stranded in the middle of the river for an hour and a half. We were completely stuck. Another boat had to come to our rescue and push us back to the marina. My rental time was already up, and the owner, Shaod, refused to give me a refund. Don't fall for their scam!

Thanks Shaod! If you’re thinking about booking him for a day out on the Potomac, DO IT! He’s super laid back and let’s you have your fun while he guides you along the river.

We had an amazing time on the boat this Fourth of July. Shaod was extremely flexible and patient with our group. It was a fun and easy day on the water. We would highly recommend!

The boat was clean and aesthetically pleasing. The boat owner Shoad should not be allowed to operate without people knowing this about him. He knowingly collected a fee that should've been waived and now can not be reached for refund. Your company should not allow an owner exhibiting this type of behavior on your site. Very distasteful and disappointing.

Our group of 8 had a fantastic time on the pontoon celebrating a 30th birthday. Shaod was was great. Highly recommend!

We had a great time on the rivers - Jamal knew all the best spots up and down the potomac to swim, watch the planes, and sight see from the water. we are locals so appreciated seeing the city from a different viewpoint. Highly recommend booking with Shaod and Jamal was an excellent captain.

Great experience. Shaod was easy to communicate with. His captain, Jamal, and assistant, Bri, were very helpful and pleasant. The boat was clean and had colorful lights that came on at night. We cruised down past Georgetown and upriver from there. Beautiful late afternoon and evening.

Shaods and Larry are the best! We had 14 people on the boat and fit everyone comfortably. We had such an amazing time and cannot wait to do it again. We will be renting from Shaods again. If you want to have fun and not spend a ton of $$ - look no further, book now.

Captain Jemol was awesome and created a unique and memorable experience!

Great service, friendly owner/Captain, positive experience. Shaod was flexible on the trip, dropping us off at a different marina than the pick-up so that we could get to a different part of the DC area easier. He stopped to get us ice cream, he let us play our own music, and he was just an all-around positive Captain. Would recommend him and his boat.

Shaod from the very beginning wasn't very friendly. His crew on the other hand were great and we had a blast regardless but this review is specifically for Shaod. When I initially reached out to him inquiring about the boat and how excited I was to celebrate my birthday, he didn't have very good customer service skills and almost made me want to find another available boat to rent. Then the day of, someone on his team told me 10 minutes before we were to board that he would be late but didn't know how long it would be. My trip should have been a sunset cruise but by the time we left the sun was already going down. My group should have had have had and 1 1/2 hrs of daylight and 1 1/2 sunset/night. Because our trip started an HOUR late I asked if he could waive a portion of the $200 cash cleaning fee (sketchy, we pay enough already, what does the service fee cover?) and he began to argue with me in front of everyone about that like it wasn't a valid thing for me to ask. He was rude and dismissive, I would NEVER recommend or book him again. I'm not one to ever write reviews but his page is misleading and I'm sure it's filled with 5 star reviews because people want the $25 he says he'll pay if you leave a good review. I'm not the hurt for money. Learn how to talk to your customers and maybe it will go better for you next time.

For years I've seen these listings and avoided them due to the cleaning fee but this year the boat we were going to rent was damaged and the other owner canceled last minute. I should've just gotten over the additional fee on the listing - this rental was a great experience! Organized, fun, friendly people to help with the whole process. The boat was super clean and we had a blast.

Shaod saved the day! We were cancelled from another Boatsetter user last minute and Shaod helped us out. We had so much fun and our captain made it even more fun! Would definitely recommend and use again.

My friends and I had such a good time. All 11 of us fit on the boat with space to move around. Jemol was our captain and he made sure we had fun. 10/10 highly reccomend.

Our trip was nothing short of a great time! Our captain Jamal was awesome and knew all the best places to take us for incredible views. The pontoon itself was very clean, spacious, and more than enough room for our group of 7. I would highly recommend this boat to anyone and will definitely keep them in mind for future trips!

The owner was very uncommunicative in the week between booking and arriving- he didn’t approve the booking until the night before, making the arrival and boarding process ungraceful and awkward. They claimed parking was cheaper through them at $25, but a person in our party parked in the same lot for $10. We paid a $250 cleaning fee but the boat clearly wasn’t cleaned before our use: bottle caps and trash onboard. Obviously a racket. Nice boats, but pretty weak customer service for the price.

We had an overall great experience with Shaod and the Bentley Pontoon 220 cruise. Our operator was experienced, kind and an outstanding driver. He communicated safety instructions and expectations clearly, and answered questions about landmarks when they came up. Our group of 7 people had a blast for our friend's birthday and we will be sure to book this service again. Amazing experience! Nine ladies went out for a 40th birthday celebration. We had snacks, drinks, music and fun! I can’t recommend Shaod enough! He was so accommodating and even stopped along the way to run in and grab sea bands for one of our ladies. We hope to be able to do it again!

Owner never took us out. Tried following up to reschedule and the owner never got back to me. Lost $700.
