Dan’s journey began in the early ‘90s at just 16 years old, cutting through the waters of Barnegat Bay. That passion led him into the U.S. Navy, where he trained at Navy Nuclear Power School in Charleston, graduated from Texas A&M, and later served aboard the USS Lake Champlain (CG-57) as both Auxiliaries Officer and Navigator. He earned his stripes as a qualified Engineering Officer of the Watch and Officer of the Deck Underway — roles where safety, precision, and calm under pressure were more than ideals, they were a way of life. After completion of his Navy career, Lieutenant Dan brought his deep respect for the ocean and passion for navigation back home to Charleston — now sharing that expertise with guests aboard his luxury vessel, Artemis. 🌅 What Guests Can Expect A safe, smooth, and relaxed cruise through Charleston Harbor, Shem Creek, and the local barrier islands.
