Bob had a very well equipped boat with all the navigation and safety equipment you could need. The boat is in great condition, and it really is perfect for Puget Sound. We had a great time sailing to Gig Harbor. We stayed overnight and sailed back the next day. We hope to rent this boat again next year.

Good weather and plenty of wind, interesting places to visit, solid boat. Would repeat, all things being equal. Boat is tip-top!

Captain Bob was great! Great boat too! My wife and I chartered for a whole day with Captain Bob as the skipper. We also brought our two girls, ages 6 and 4. Bob was really great with the kids and made it comfortable and inclusive from the very beginning. We really enjoyed our adventure and it was a great and affordable way to introduce my family to sailing and boating. We definitely recommend!

This boat and owner are tops! Bob was very helpful, answered all questions promptly, and was willing to work with us on meeting times and supplies. He also provided excellent information about boating destinations and overnight docking. We rate the sailboat as superb--it was exactly as advertised, in excellent condition, had everything we could want on board and more...and was even more spacious "down below" than we expected. Our trip was wonderful and we highly recommend Bob and his boat.

We had a great time and as a family of 5 the boat had plenty of space. It is in excellent condition and very well maintained. Bob was extremely helpful, well organized and professional. The kayaks and tender were a very nice bonus. We would absolutely recommend the boat and its owner.

We spent a day sailing in southern Puget Sound aboard the Emma Lee and had a great time. The boat is in extremely good condition and well equipped for a day or a week. Robert was more than helpful with information on local attractions and sailing conditions. We especially appreciated his flexibility with scheduling and his attention to detail during the boat check out. We'll charter this boat again the next time we are in Olympia.

My wife and I rented Bob's boat this past weekend. Bob met us at the boat and went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. We spent 4 days exploring the South Sound. The boat was well equipped. We spent the days exploring the various islands, kayaking, and cooking on board for all meals. It was a great experience and we are already planning our next trip on Bob's beautiful sailboat!

Really great and comfortable boat for our overnight sailing trip. Equipped with advance navigation system, boat sails beautifully. Living area is very clean and nice, cosy sleeping areas, both kids and adults have a really memorable and good time!

He shows us how to sail, and let us participate in a very natural and comfortable way. We really enjoy the time sailing together with Bob, having nice conversation, having fun. Robert could not have prepared Emma Lee any better. Fitted with good running rigging, new engine, good sails, safety gear, and a new chartplotter, she was all set for a great sail. In addition, he sent a detailed guide about her and the Marina covering every contingency about nine days ahead of time. We rented Emma Lee for two days and one night and found Bob to be a great host, very friendly and accommodating. His Catalina 30 is a fine ship and in great condition, she has everything you’ll need and all equipment was operational!

We had 5 onboard during the day and 3 stayed for the overnight, we had plenty of room for us and our stuff.

Looking forward to renting from Bob again.

Bob was very experienced and instilled a great deal of confidence. I had initially requested a bare boat rental but Bob recognized that I had not sailed a cruiser in the past and suggested that he accompany us. He allowed us to do all the sailing. He took over to help with tricky debarkation and docking on a gusty day. He is a good teacher and very personable.

This boat is ... Perfect. Very well equipped, fast, great behavior in higher wind.
What I really love is you can see it is sailing a lot and has everything you would need. Nothing is missing.
Finally, my favorite part is the owner, Bob who is very clear in his communication, reliable, trustworthy and always available to help on the phone when in need for advice.

This was a great experience. We learned the ropes (sailing pun intended) and enjoyed the extensive knowledge of our host. He made it a memorable and great experience for all of us. Very happy we had not only a fantastic boat but even better captain leading the way.

We just got back from two wonderful days on the the South Puget Sound aboard Emma Lee.

The views were spectacular, we enjoyed the wildlife, both on and off shore, and took advantage of the opportunity to hike through the woods in two of the local State parks. The boat was clean and well appointed, the check out at the dock was smooth and efficient, and the boat handled well in a variety of conditions.

Bob was responsive and accommodating, providing kayaks and a dingy. He also had great suggestions about crushing destinations and routes of passage.

I can highly recommend this boat and would not hesitate to book her again.

We had an excellent trip around Squaxin Island in South Puget sound. The weather was overcast, but not raining. We powered the sailboat most of the way. Captain Robert pointed out the many bays, inlets and peninsulas as they passed. When the wind improved, he instructed the 30 year olds on how to sail. I most enjoyed the sound's natural beauty and occasional sightings of seals, herons and even a porpoise.

Robert was very professional. His boat is in great shape and was well equipped.

He is also very responsive.

We rented this sail boat for our friend’s 30th birthday and we had a blast! The boat was in good shape with plenty of room to hang out above or below deck. There is seating and a table in the cabin, a cooler, and even a stove/oven to cook with. Bob, the captain, was incredibly hospitable and gave great instructions on how to sail the boat. We each got to take turns steering and operating the sails. The interactive approach Bob takes really made this a great adventure and one we will soon repeat! I highly recommend Bob and his sail boat, even if you have zero experience on a boat, you will have fun! Can’t wait to go again!

Robert was a wonderful captain for my family (and our little yorkshire terrier, too). My favorite part of the trip was learning the terminology of sailing and helping crew. I feel like I learned a lot since I hadn't been on a sailboat in over 20+ years. My husband had a chance to skipper and we were all smiles. We had a lot of fun and even stayed overnight at the Marina which was a memorable and fun part of our adventure.

The boat was very well kept. Found her extremely comfortable. The captain let us participate in all functions of sailing which was our goal as this was my first time sailing. The layout of the sailboat made it easy and safe to work as a crew. My 2 kids and I had the best day. You can’t put a price on that !!

We had a great time on the Emma Lee. The boat is well equipped and maintained, better than other charter boats I have been on. Sails are in great shape since they are only 5 years old. Fantastic day aboard the Emma-Lee! Not much wind during our trip, but all on board got a chance at the helm, learned the basics of sailing and we can’t wait for another excursion! Captain Bob was engaging and taught the crew how to read the tell-tales, harness the wind and come about. All essential tools for a successful voyage. Great time, really nice boat and an excellent captain!

Terrific experience! Emma Lee is lovely, well maintained, extremely well appointed, and a pleasure to motor or sail. Sailing is all about the details and Bob & Emma Lee took care of everything; the boat had everything it should have (and then some) and we only needed to bring groceries and clothes. Bob met us at the marina on departure with fresh towels and linens, gave a great overview, made sure we had fluids, and was full of local knowledge about where to go when. He met us on the return and had us on our way quickly. A true pleasure.

The boat has been maintained immaculately and was quite comfortable. Our day on the water was a bit gusty but the boat handled remarkably well.

We had a great 2 days on the water with Robert. The weather was perfect except that there was not much wind. We saw lots of wildlife and the scenery was spectacular. Bob was great with teaching and instructing all of us. We got plenty of time at the helm and are feeling much more comfortable with our sailing skills. My first “peer to peer” sailboat rental experience, first Boatsetter rental, and first rental from Robert, so Robert was ultimately the first and last line of support for the details/boat, website usability/customer service and my overall satisfaction with trying this way to get out on the water. Literally no other human involved that I could figure, and he did it flawlessly.

I’m a life long sailor and was after a day I (and my wife) could plan quickly and get on a clean, well performing sailboat to take my grandson and family out and get some local daysail/recreation flavor of Olympia area.

Robert picked right up on what I was after, wasted none of my time, guided me through the very easy steps of finalizing the booking, had perfect idea to anchor off Hope island and go ashore for a short hike/explore and some kayaking.

Motored out in no wind, but wind picked up nicely for great afternoon of sailing after the island stop. Robert gave me perfect advice on achoring and rowing/kayaking ashore to hike around.

Hope island is I think a state park and we saw deer roaming around and what was once a working orchard and farm with hiking trails all through the woods. My grandson was in heaven.

Robert has his Catalina 30 kept absolutely ship shape. Both the creature comforts like the propane grill, cockpit table, stern rail seats as well as the boats saftey and performance stuff was totally top notch. Nice new diesel he told me he recently upgraded starts on a dime, quietly pushes boat along at 5.5 knots at under 3000 revs and I’m sure would take it right up to hull speed in about any weather if you needed it.

Sails great with hardly any weather helm, trimmed properly. Halyards, sheets, winches, blocks, clutches etc all in near new condition, layed out very sensibly and well labeled for a first time skipper or crew member of the boat.

I didn’t do much technical navigation, but electronics were all top shelf and working perfectly- large easy to see chart plotter display right above compass binnacle at helmstation for course, depth, speed, and a multi function easy to use wind instrument mounted to cabin bulkhead facing aft. I had never used either instrument but using them was a piece of cake and they worked great.

Nice easy close parking to the dock, clean bathrooms on shore and head on boat also clean and in perfect working order.

I know I’m probably forgetting some details of the experience that I’m now starting to ramble on about, but speaking for myself, my wife, my daughter and my son in law, all of us were completely satisfied with the day and encourage anyone wanting to get out for some great sailing and southern Puget sound exploring to book a trip with Robert without the slightest worry the experience will be handled super professionally, and know the boat is just as advertised, super clean and rock solid.

Was a wonderful/beautiful time. Very peaceful. Wasn’t long enough. 😊 Learning experience had by all.

We had the pleasure of renting Bob's Catalina 30 for three and a half days of incredible exploration of the South Puget Sound. From the very beginning, Bob was a great boat owner, making sure we were in contact and ready for our trip. He reached out early and had great feedback on our proposed route.

Checking in was a breeze, and Bob had us on our way in less than an hour. He was also gracious enough to have a welcome bag with local coffee, beers and wine for us to enjoy. Bob was also available to us for our entire trip in case anything came up.

The boat layout was perfect for our time. We took five pages of notes on things we'll be doing on our own Catalina 30. The mechanical systems were problem-free, and the electronics and navigation systems made for a hassle-free cruise. Down below, the galley, salon and head made living very comfortable. The two kayaks that Bob offered allowed us to explore the various coves where we stayed.

South Puget Sound is a great alternative to the busier San Juan Islands, and Bob's Catalina 30 is a great way to see it. I highly recommend this to anyone.

As I said , this being my first time out sailing, I wanted to experience the sailing adventure. Bob , the Captain, had us helping right off the start. We never felt worried as Bob explained each task thoroughly and had me and my 2 kids ( young adults) working as a team. He was very patient with us and answered all of my questions. The entire day was way more than I could have hoped for. Captain Bob gave me a precious memory I will never forget.

This Catalina was a great boat for our trip. Due to weather we weren't able to sail as much as hoped, but the engine was strong and dependable. When sailing the boat handled well even in winds over 20 knots. The cabin is great with a stocked galley and comfortable bedding. All systems worked well. This was our first time in a Catalina and I certainly would recommend it.

Emma Lee is a great boat and has been well cared for. My wife and I along with a friend took her on a 6 day journey on the South Sound exploring all the way up through The Narrows and back to Hope Island. We had a stop at Eagle Island and docked in Gig Harbor and Point Defiance. The boat was very clean and reliable. The sails looked new and we got good wind and were able to sail a few of the days. Bob also provided a couple kayaks. Everything on the boat from the grill to the autopilot worked well during the trip. Bob was very responsive in communication and we would certainly rent this boat again to go on another adventure.

We had an amazing time on the boat. We were looking to try out sleeping on a boat, kind of a trial before we looked into getting a boat for ourselves. Knowing this Robert was extremely accommodating exchanging many messages and even rescheduling to a different day when the original scheduled day’s weather was going to make it a bumpy night. When the day of the rental finally came Robert helped get us all set for the night and gave us a great suggestion to explore Hope Island the next day. Over all the boat was really nice, clean, comfortable, and Robert was very patient (many messages). Our experience couldn't have been better. It was such a great experience we just got our new to us sailboat in the water last weekend.

Captain Bob is great! We wanted to experience actually sailing the boat. He calmly explained how to maneuver it and let us have the kinesthetic experience we desired. He helped us feel relaxed and comfortable, thus we had a fabulous day.. I will definitely recommend him!
